The Dreamers Den cotton sateen duvet cover Sky Blue is made from cotton sateen, which is sometimes confused with polyester satin, the smooth, shiny fabric. Sateen, however, says nothing about the material but about the way it is woven. Weave

In a sateen weave the cotton is woven much more densely than in cotton percale or cotton renforcé, so more threads are used. The thread count indicates the number of threads per square inch.
