The Dreamers Den cotton sateen pillowcases are made from 100% washed cotton sateen, which is sometimes confused with polyester satin, the smooth, shiny fabric. Sateen, however, says nothing about the material but about the way it is woven. Cotton sateen is 100% natural cotton and therefore has all the fine qualities of cotton: it breathes and absorbs moisture. A cotton sateen duvet cover feels much softer and smoother than an 'ordinary' cotton duvet cover thanks to the special sateen weave. In addition, colours stay beautiful for longer on cotton sateen.

Weave

In a sateen weave the cotton is woven much more densely than in cotton percale or cotton renforcé, so more threads are used. The thread count indicates the number of threads per square inch. The higher the thread count, the higher the quality and the smoother the fabric. A duvet cover in 300 TC cotton sateen is therefore of extra-high quality. In the sateen weave the top weft threads lie loose, which also gives the fabric a gentle sheen. Cotton sateen not only feels luxurious, it looks luxurious too!
